WYD website launched

The official website of the next World Youth Day has been launched. The website went live just hours after Pope Francis made the announcement in Brazil that the next WYD will take place in Krakow, Poland in 2016.

The new website has a section dedicated to John Paul II, who spent much of his life in Krakow. There he studied at a clandestine seminary and served as a priest and bishop for. The page also displays the main shrines in Krakow, like the Divine Mercy, or the ëHave No Fearí papal centre, which was built in honour of John Paul II.

Through a video, users are encouraged to learn more about the city that will host WYD in July 2016.

The website is available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Polish.
