A leading expert on Pope Francis will address the Pontiff’s reform agenda and its relevance for the Church here just ahead of the Pope’s historic trip to Ireland.
John L. Allen – a journalist who has covered the papacies of St John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis – will speak about the revolution that the Pope is trying to bring to global Catholicism and it’s importance for co-responsibility between priests and laypeople in the Church in Ireland.
Mr Allen – who runs the global Catholic news source Crux and is a frequent contributor to The Irish Catholic will speak at St Brigid’s Parish Centre in Belfast on Thursday, August 16 at 7.30pm. The following evening – Friday August 17 – Mr Allen will speak in St Mary’s College in Derry at 7.30pm. Both events are free.
The following week, Mr Allen will address the same topic in Dublin’s Avila Centre on Morehampton Road. Tickets for this event are €15.
