Trócaire, the overseas development agency of the Irish Bishops’ Conference, is holding Masses of remembrance this month for friends and supporters of the organisation who have passed away and who generously left a gift to Trócaire in their will. The first Mass took place in Belfast on Monday and a second Mass will be held in St Joseph’s Oratory, St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, Co. Kildare on Monday, November 23 at 7pm.
“People in Ireland are renowned for their generosity to charity and many people often choose to continue this legacy after they are gone,” said Margaret Rooney of Trócaire. “We want to honour their memory and hold an event for family and friends to share in the legacy their loved ones have left behind. The gifts people leave to Trócaire have enormous impacts on the lives of families and communities overseas and we want to share this with friends and families of the deceased here in Ireland.
“We encourage anyone who would like to connect with the memory and legacy of a loved one who supported Trócaire to come along and be a part of our remembrance evening.”
