Pope Francis very humbled to receive gifts
Pope Francis has thanked Irish children who sent him letters and gifts to mark the National Day of Prayer for Children last October.
Dr Baptistine Ralamboarison, the Secretary General of the Pontifical Society of Missionary Childhood (PSMC), collected the gifts on a visit to Ireland last year during which she attended a prayer service in Rathmines, Dublin with 600 students from eight schools around the country.
When she returned to the Vatican she presented Pope Francis with a folder containing a group photo from the prayer service, a letter and photo from Bohernabreena National School and a letter from a parishioner, and a gift and letter from Milltown Malbay National School in Co. Clare.
Dr Baptistine said Pope Francis was very humbled to receive the gifts “and sends his thanks and blessing to all of the wonderful Missionary Children in Ireland”.
