Our Taoiseach is a confused ‘Catholic’

Dear Editor, Michael Kelly’s article on Enda Kenny’s interview with Gay Byrne on the Meaning of Life is spot on. It’s a sad day when a country’s leader, a deeply confused ‘Catholic’ (but non-Catholic Taoiseach) says he doesn’t believe in a personal God but instead believes in a kind of ‘force’ or ‘energy’ throughout the universe. The Christian G.K. Chesterton got it so right when he said: “When a man stops believing in God, he doesn’t then believe in nothing, he believes in anything.”

Yours etc.,

Kenneth Francis,
