New K&L Diocesan Eucharistic Adoration committee

Following four months of training, a group of lay people from parishes throughout the Diocese of Kildare & Leighlin has formed a new diocesan Eucharistic Adoration committee.

This was organised and conducted by John Howard and Brendan Cleary of the National Committee of the Apostolate of Eucharistic Adoration, with the encouragement and support of Bishop Denis Nulty and the priests of the diocese.

This adoration committee is equipped and trained to set up a system of viable weekly adoration in any parish of the diocese, at the invitation of priests. Where a previous system exists, then the task undertaken is to strengthen and expand it.

So far, 14 parishes have requested a weekend presentation from the committee and, during the training period, two adoration centres were renewed in Monasterevin and Abbeyleix.

The diocesan committee was commissioned at a Mass offered by Bishop Nulty in Portlaoise. The spiritual director is Fr Ruairi Ó Dómhnaill.
