Matt Talbot Novena in Killaloe diocese

The annual novena to Matt Talbot is underway in the Diocese of Killaloe

The annual novena to Matt Talbot in the Diocese of Killaloe began last Monday, September 30 in St Senan’s Church, Kilrush, Co. Clare and Ss. John & Paul Church Shannon, Co. Limerick on Tuesday. It will continue on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7pm, for the next eight weeks, praying for all suffering or sharing in the life of addiction.

Matt Talbot’s addiction was alcohol. His programme of recovery was built around devotion to the Eucharist, love of Mary Mother of God and prayer, but he never forgot his struggle with his addiction. The life and example of Matt Talbot is an inspiration and help to people to overcome and accept their problems and difficulties.

Petitions and prayers of thanks can be sent to the shrine in both churches or on the special online petition form on www.shannonparish.ie
