Knock Shrine, Knock, Co. Mayo. 
The pilgrimage season at Knock Shrine in Co. Mayo will get underway on Sunday, April 24 and the programme of events includes a concert to commemorate the 1916 Rising and World War I.
The RTÉ concert orchestra will perform on Saturday, May 14 in the newly refurbished Basilica, with a performance from mezzo-soprano Anne Marie Gibbons and tenor Owen Gilhooly.
A lecture entitled ‘In the name of God, Religion and the Republic, 1916’ by Dr Gearóid Barry, NUI Galway, will also take place in the afternoon of Saturday, May 14 from 4.30-5.30pm in the Rest & Care Centre.
‘Climate Change and Me: Rising to the Laudato Sí Challenge’ will take place at Knock Shrine on Saturday, April 30, led by Prof. John Sweeney, Professor of Geography at NUI Maynooth.
