K&L launches pocket guide to Confession

Bishop Denis Nulty of Kildare & Leighlin launched a pocket guide to the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the opening of the Door of Mercy in St Fintan’s Church, Mountrath, Co. Laois on Sunday.

The guide, which has been supplied to every parish, is an accordion style leaflet that folds up neatly to fit in a wallet or purse, to make it easy for people to use when they attend Confession.

The opening of the Jubilee Door was preceded by a solemn procession led by Bishop Denis from Clonenagh cemetery, which saw many people from the local parishes and beyond take part.

Bishop Denis said he was delighted to launch “this diocesan aid to assist all of us as we approach the Sacrament of Confession or Reconciliation”.

“I hope and pray that this little guide will be a tremendous help to those who need the sacrament but perhaps aren’t sure how to approach it, or have lost the confidence in how to avail of it.”

The fourth and final diocesan Jubilee Door will be opened in Duiske Abbey, Graiguenamanagh on September 11.
