A group of Irish pilgrims spent seven days in Medjugorje during Holy Week, taking in the ceremonies on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday. They arrived back in Dublin on Wednesday morning.

Pilgrim James Treacy, a regular visitor to Medjugorje and a tour organiser to Fatima and the Holy Land, said that the heat this year made the pilgrimage more difficult. “We had to climb the Cross Mountain which was very tough especially when the weather was fairly hot,” he said. “While the mountains were quite dangerous no casualties were reported in the group”.

Still, he shared that the pilgrimage group persevered and had “all their prayers said”.

The group saw representatives from all Irish counties, but there was a particularly large contingent from Cork, Tipperary, and Northern Ireland, shared Mr Treacy.
