Thousands gathered at the RDS in Dublin this weekend for the 35th Divine Mercy Conference, joining in prayer, worship and reflection under this year’s theme, ‘This is my Body… this is my Blood, given up for you’.
Attendees travelled from across Ireland and abroad for a programme of Mass, Eucharistic adoration, music and talks centred on God’s mercy and the renewal of faith. The atmosphere throughout the weekend was marked by joyful worship and a strong sense of community among attendees of all ages.
Speakers included Fr James Blount SOLT, Fr Leon Pereira OP, Fr John Keane, Fr Brendan Walsh, Rev. Dr Eunan McDonnell, Róisín Doherty and Deacon Don Devaney, who offered reflections on the Eucharist, Divine Mercy and living faith in everyday life.
Volunteers and attendees spoke of encouragement at the growing crowds. Ciarán, a volunteer from Celbridge, said the steady stream of pilgrims showed that “rumours of the death of Christianity are slightly in error… there’s a resurgence starting,” while first-time attendee Deirdre from Kerry hoped simply to return home “a little lighter.”
