Evangelium conference to take place in Cork for first time Evangelium Conference 2024

The Evangelium young adult apologetics conference will take place in Cork on Saturday, March 21, marking the first time the annual gathering has been held outside the Dublin area.

The event will bring together young adults aged 18–40 for a day of Mass, talks and discussion aimed at deepening understanding of the Catholic faith.

Public relations officer James Bradshaw said moving the conference beyond Dublin reflects growing interest from across the country and a desire to make the event more accessible. Previous gatherings have been held in Dublin and Maynooth, while a smaller event in Cork previously drew strong attendance.

This year’s speakers include Fr Gavan Jennings, Evangelium’s spiritual director, youth evangelisation expert Paul Graas, Dr Catherine Kavanagh of Mary Immaculate College, and Sr Mary Andrea Lesko of the Sisters of Mercy of Alma.

Several talks will engage with the thought of St Augustine, whose spiritual search and reflections on human restlessness continue to resonate with young people exploring questions of meaning and faith today.
