Dublin church invites growing community of young Catholics through its doors At Connect 7 in Cork’s Cathedral, keynote speakers Fr Conor McGrath and Lorraine Buckley.

Whitefriar Street Church in Dublin city centre will welcome young adults on July 12 for a one-day conference and day of reflection on living as disciples in contemporary Ireland.

The conference, titled ‘Made for More – Say Yes. Go Deeper. Live Differently’ will include keynote addresses,  a personal witness, a panel discussion and opportunities for questions. The day will conclude with Mass celebrated by Bishop Fintan Gavin of Cork and Ross, and Fr Conor McGrath, Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Down and Connor, will give a keynote address.

Speaking in a press release about the conference, Prior of Whitefriar Street Fr James Eivers O.Carm said the conference is a result of increased engagement from young Catholics in the Whitefriar Street community. “Over the past year we have seen a remarkable increase in the number of young adults engaging with the life of the Church through pilgrimages, prayer initiatives, volunteer programmes, liturgy, catechesis and community events,” said Fr Eivers.

These same young Catholics are involved in organising the conference, and some will share their own journeys of faith and discipleship on the day.
