Rev. Declan Kelly (26) pictured during his ordination to the diaconate in his native parish of Rochfortbridge, Co. Westmeath last Sunday with Bishop Michael Smith.
Rev. Kelly is the eldest son of Violet and Declan Kelly, and brother of Mark, Katie and Niamh.
He has studied at St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, the Catholic Institute, Paris and the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome. Bishop Smith said “Declan’s generosity and the faith of his family gives us an example during this Advent season of how we can prepare for the Feast of Christmas”.
