A faith misunderstood or perhaps lost

Dear Editor, Your comments on the Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s interview with Gay Byrne on The Meaning of Life (IC 26/6/14) was an excellent summary of the Taoiseach’s poor understanding of his faith. That the Taoiseach taught religion and is a regular Massgoer begs the question, does the Taoiseach misunderstand his faith or has he lost it?

The Taoiseach appeared particularly uncomfortable when questioned regarding why he didn’t allow a conscience vote on the protection of life legislation. Arguably the most inspiring of leaders are those that do the right thing not because they are told by others to do it but because they believe it is the right thing to do.

Your etc.,
