US Bishops’ Conference votes on leader

United States – The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is about to vote on its presidential successor to Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York (pictured). Between November 11 and 14, the conference members will gather for the autumn assembly and choose their new president and vice-president from a shortlist of 10 candidates.

The candidates are: Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond of New Orleans, Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, OFM Cap., of Philadelphia, Bishop Blase J. Cupich of Spokane, of Washington, Cardinal Daniel N. DiNardo of Galveston-Houston, Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles , Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, Archbishop William E. Lori of Baltimore, Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr of Cincinnati, Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron of Detroit and Archbishop Thomas G. Wenski of Miami.
