Dear Editor, I wish to remind the faithful that we are coming to the second anniversary of the Consecration of Ireland to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The Church in Ireland has had its struggles in recent times but we can take heart from the fact that the Irish bishops consecrated Ireland to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Knock on August 15, 2013.
We see great loss of faith today among some and our young people seem to lack formation in their faith. Our Lady came to Fatima to ask for the Consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart as a remedy for the loss of the faith that she foresaw there.
At this time when Ireland seemsto be slipping away from the practice of her faith it should give us hope that the bishops have actually already consecrated Ireland to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
We can trust therefore that she will in time bring things about for the good of our nation and people. Many thanks to the bishops and all who prayed for this.
Yours etc.,
Eileen Tiernan,
Knock, Co. Mayo.
