Snakes, cockroaches and…the Rosary? Anne Hegerty on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here

With the new series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here hitting TV screens Sunday last, most viewers expected to see spiders, snakes and cockroaches, but not someone praying the Rosary.

This week, Anne Hegerty [pictured], who shot to fame as a Chaser in the ITV game show The Chase, was seen praying the Rosary for her camp mates.

The show gets millions of views weekly and her religious activity was sure to catch the attention on some eagle-eyed Catholics. ‘The Governess’ – as she is known in The Chase – has been vocal about her commitment to the Faith, especially given that she is a member of the Catholic Writers Guild.

The quiz maestro has garnered support from all over the world for her resilience in the jungle despite living with Asperger’s. Ahead of her arrival she said: “Being surrounded by people I can’t get away from, or those who talk all the time, can be a source of stress.”
