After a six-year gap, the singing sensation, the Priests, will release their fourth album on October 7.
The new album Alleluia, features a mix of traditional hymns (Nearer My God To Thee, Céad Míle Fáilte Romhat, The Lord is my Shepherd) and the classical oratorios for which the men are famous (Ave Verum and the Bach/Gounod Ave Maria).
Fathers Eugene O’Hagan, Martin O’Hagan and David Delargy – known as The Priests – were catapulted to fame when they signed with Sony BMG in 2008 earning a platinum disc in Ireland and the UK the following year with their first album ‘The Priests’.
“Our last album was in 2010, so it’s been a while,” said Fr Delargy. “It’s been very good fun to be back in the recording studio. Identifying suitable music and arranging it so that it’s suitable for us is very stimulating.”
