Leading US congressman Chris Smith will be the keynote speaker at the Pro Life Campaign’s National Conference this weekend.
The New Jersey politician has been a member of the US House of Representatives since 1981, and as well as being a prominent opponent of abortion has been a leading voice for human rights at home and abroad, also serving as co-chairman of the bipartisan Congressional Alzheimer’s Task Force and the Coalition for Autism Research and Education.
Other guest speakers include Ade Stack, founder of Hugh’s House in Dublin, which operates as a home from home for families of babies with life-limiting conditions.
PLC spokesperson Dr Ruth Cullen said the conference will be an important opportunity to regroup and unite “with a general election just around the corner and a major push on to repeal the Eighth Amendment”.
The conference takes place on Saturday, October 10 in the RDS, Dublin.
