Mags GarganLarry Ward was awarded the Bene Merenti medal for over 40 years dedicated service as organist and choir master in Drumconrath, Co. Meath, at a presentation in a packed church of family and well-wishers.
Larry was accompanied by his wife Attracta and daughter Sarah Jane for this special ceremony which was concelebrated in Ss Peter and Paul’s Church led by Fr Finian Connaughton PP.
Following the Mass, celebrations and refreshments continued in the Parish Centre where Larry and attendees were treated to a ‘This is Your Life’ style event. As part of this, many letters of good wishes from Larry’s friends were read out and a special video message from Mary Duff the singer was played.
