Papal blessing for Year of the Holy Name

Mass to be broadcast on RTE Radio one Extra

As part of the jubilee year of the Holy Name of Jesus, Pope Francis has granted a papal blessing, which will be  given at a Mass to be broadcast over the radio from the Poor Clare Monastery in Galway.

Pope Francis’ devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus is well known and he has already granted the celebration a Jubilee Year status.

“The Pope has nominated Bishop Martin Drennan to give this blessing and it is valid for those who tune into it over the radio to the Mass celebrated in our monastery. The fact that it is also transmitted over the internet means that even our friends abroad can join us on this special occasion,” said Sr Paul, Mother Abbess.

The Mass will broadcast on RTÉ Radio One Extra (LW 252) on Sunday, November 23 (The Feast of Christ the King) at 11am.
