Over 50s show returning to Kilkenny

Ireland’s only lifestyle event for seniors traveling the country

Ireland’s only lifestyle event for seniors, the SeniorTimes ‘Over 50s Show’, is returning to the Lyrath Convention Centre, Kilkenny on Sunday, November 24 – Monday, November 25 for the second year.

The show, which has previously been held in Dublin, Galway, Limerick and Belfast and attracts up to 20,000 visitors every year to the RDS, will be open from 12-7pm on Sunday and 11-5pm on Monday.

According to the organisers, the event is a ‘one stop shop’ for seniors, covering everything from health, finance, hotels and vacations, fashion make overs, hobbies and pastimes, genealogy, home security plus golf, painting and bridge lessons.

Apart from over 70 exhibitors the show will feature a programme of free presentations throughout the two days, covering numerous areas of interest, including a series of free talks on health conditions that effect older people given by medical experts.

Major attractions include gardening guru Gerry Daly who will be offering advice at his standing room-only clinics, Frank Clarke painting clinics and bridge workshops.

There will also be  genealogy presentations on both days as well as an historical book sale by Kilkenny-based Irish Family History Foundation, who promise to answer most of the queries visitors may have in relation to their families’ genealogy background.
