An afternoon of song is being organised by the Returned Missionary Desk of the Irish Missionary Union.
‘Summer Song’ will take place at the Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers) on Wednesday, May 13 from 3pm to 4pm. (No 15 bus from town)
This fundraising concert which will aid the work being done by the Peter McVerry Trust and Goal
will be a showcase for young talented Irish classical musicians and operatic singers.
It will be hosted by Irish soprano Sandra Oman who will guide the audience through the repertoire with brief translations/explanations of the pieces.
The soprano singers; Hannah Crowley, Kathleen Nic Diarmuid and Baritone James Kelly will
be accompanied by David Wray.
The repertoire will cover popular operatic arias and duets and also songs from the musicals and Irish melodies.
