A group of 13 ladies, two men and two children visited the convent of the Holy Rosary Sisters in Temple Road, Dublin, laden with music and delicious food to thank the sisters for the work they have done in Africa.
The group represented the Women Intercessors for the Church and the Nations, also known as the Wailing Women Worldwide. The movement, which was founded in Nigeria and is made up of various denominations in about 90 countries, is essentially a call to prayer.
The visitors joined the sisters at midday Mass and then shared a meal of rice and chicken, with song, dance and laughter. They called the missionary sisters “Heroes of the Faith” and presented them with a glass plaque.
