Mags GarganSr Susan Evangelist celebrates 50 years
More than 100 friends, family members and well-wishers gathered at the Mount Carmel House of Prayer in Drumkeen, Co. Donegal at the end of August to honour Sr Susan Evangelist, who celebrated her Golden Jubilee.
Sr Susan Teague joined the Mercy Order in Ballyshannon, and was one of the first sisters to be sent to Montana, USA, in 1966. After serving 17 years there, she returned to Donegal, and has since worked in the Raphoe diocese, serving the community in various capacities.
Bishop Philip Boyce celebrated Mass in thanksgiving for Sr Susan’s long service, commitment and dedication. Sr Susan, who is based at Windyhall Convent, Letterkenny, thanked God for his many blessings and all the people who are part of Mount Carmel House of Prayer.
