Bishop Michael Smith officially launched the Diocese of Meath’s preparations for World Youth Day (WYD) next year in a ceremony in Navan parish. He will lead a group of 50 young adults (18-35 years) from the diocese to Krakow, Poland at the end of July, 2016.
The pilgrimage journey will take in the five days of World Youth Day in Krakow, but will also include four days spent in the Diocese of Płock sharing culture and faith with Polish youth and visiting nearby shrines.
Lisa Price, a veteran of two WYDs and involved in the diocesan preparations, said she is “looking forward to experiencing and enriching my faith along with other young people and helping others to enliven their faith too”.
