Archbishop Eamon Martin gives final faith talk
A series of talks to mark the Year of Faith and the 150th anniversary of the dedication of St Patrick’s church organised by Mayobridge Parish Pastoral Council in the Co. Down parish, has concluded with Archbishop Eamon Martin, Coadjutor Archbishop of Armagh, giving the final talk.
Over recent months large crowds came out to hear testimony from Mickey Harte, Nuala O’Loan, Brenda Rankin, Sr Briege McKenna and Archbishop Martin.
Tim Looney, Chairperson of Mayobridge Parish Pastoral Council said: “The last number of months has been a real faith experience for our parishioners and also for those who attended the talks. It was very special, in this Year of Faith, to come together and listen to how God has worked in people’s lives. It has been a time of prayer and a time of reflection on the great gift of our faith.
“We are most grateful to all those who attended the talks, those who helped to organise them, the various groups from our parish who supported our initiative and also our wonderful priests, Fr Charlie Byrne and Fr Tom McAteer. We are also indebted to our visiting speakers for sharing their faith,” he said.
