An upcoming young adult conference held at the Legion of Mary headquarters in Dublin will offer passionate young Catholics a chance to “live out their missionary zeal”, said organiser and young adult legionary Áine Blake from the Deus et Patria Committee.
Speaking to this newspaper, Ms Blake said the theme of this year’s conference, ‘Embrace the Grace’ is “a call to young people to realise and avail of the immense grace merited for us by Christ.” As of the date of this publication, around 120 young adults are expected to attend the conference on August 29.
Ms Blake said the location of the conference at “the heart of the Legion of Mary” is special. “It gives the attendees the opportunity to experience what the Legion of Mary is about, and to be inspired by the incredible Irishman Frank Duff and his legacy,” she continued.
“Young people converting to Catholicism can have a particular zeal for the faith,” said the organiser. “The apostolate of the Legion of Mary can offer to them a way to live out this missionary zeal, to make a real difference in the world, to follow in the footsteps of the apostles, reaching out to all nations, to every soul, and share the gift of faith they have been given with others.”
‘Embrace the Grace’ will feature talks from Catherine McMahon and Fr Brian Doyle OP, as well as workshops from Mary-Aoife Ong, Seán Blackwell, Christine O’Hara, and Neil Mather.
