Large crowd attends 13th annual bikers memorial

The annual ‘Gone But Not Forgotten’ bikers memorial Mass was celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church, Clones, Co. Monaghan.

A number of motorbikes, including a Honda CBR 600 race bike belonging to Richard Briton who died 10 years ago, were on display on the altar.

A large number of bikers and their families from across Ireland attended the Mass with a continuous sound of engines roaring up Church Hill to park around the chapel.

Fr John Kearns and Fr Tony Conlan celebrated Mass and Archdeacon Helene Steed was guest speaker.

The names of 30 deceased bikers were read out by Bridget Thunder and three
hand-crafted plaques containing the names and pictures of hundreds of deceased bikers were placed on the altar.
