Does Kanye West have a secret devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary?
The rapper has just announced his new album titled So Help Me God on Twitter, alongside a picture of a symbol, which a number of websites have alleged is a 13th century monastic symbol of the Mother of God.
West, who has 20-month-old daughter North with wife Kim Kardashian, has been vocal about his religious beliefs in the past.
“You do not want to go against the power. I’m working on one mission, and that’s a mission from God,” the star said in one radio interview.
He has also previously spoken of how he thinks Christianity is “awesome” because he can “portray God” however he chooses.
He said: “You know, what’s awesome about Christianity is that we’re allowed to portray God.
“We’re allowed to, you know, draw an image of Him, we’re allowed to make movies about Him… So that’s just what’s really awesome about Christianity. That’s one of the awesome things.”
As well as his new and last album titles, Kanye has previously used religious references in his songs.
His 2002 debut album The College Dropout contained the single Jesus Walks.
West also teamed up with Jay Z and Frank Ocean on No Church in the Wild for their 2011 collaborative album Watch the Throne.
