Job vacancy – Marketing and Events Executive

Grace Communications is a dynamic company publishing The Irish Catholic newspaper with a weekly readership of over 90,000 people. The company also owns Columba Press and Currach Press publishing a wide range of books.

As part of the continued growth of the company now seeks to appoint a Marketing and Events Executive.

The Marketing and Events Executive will drive the organisation and effective execution of the company’s and its subsidiaries (Columba, Currach, Magnificat, etc.,) events to a high standard and will also drive a strong circulation growth policy for The Irish Catholic in parishes while also maintaining an excellent customer relationship service to the company’s customers by cross-selling and cross-promoting the company and its subsidiaries’ products and services including Magnificat, Columba and Currach books etc.


Principal duties and responsibilities

  • To have overall oversight of the day-to-day event and circulation management of Grace Communications (and its subsidiaries listed above) in conjunction with and reporting to the Managing Editor and to manage the day-to-day organisation of events and the circulation strategy as well as customer-retention as part of a yearly strategy.
  • To set up, organise and provide a strong circulation-retention policy in conjunction with the Managing Editor which would strive to retain and grow parishes’ commitment to The Irish Catholic. This policy will have clear goals and targets which will be agreed at the start of the contract and reviewed on a monthly basis.
  • To prepare and assist in the collection of data for weekly and monthly reports.
  • To have an excellent understanding of the NetSuite system and to use it efficiently, accurately and effectively.
  • To take full responsibility for all events and functions run by the company and its subsidiaries.
  • To perform such other duties, appropriate to the role, as may be required by the Managing Editor from time to time.
  • To participate in regular meetings with the Managing Director so that overall strategy is being adhered to.



  • One to two years’ experience in a marketing or sales role, preferably for a publication
  • Previous experience in event planning with a proven record of success
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Degree in marketing or a communications-related field is preferred
  • Courses or work experience in project management are a bonus
