Invite someone to return to Church in Year of Mercy – Bishop

Invite someone to return to Church in Year of Mercy – Bishop Bishop Denis Brennan was in great company at the event.

Bishop Denis Brennan has urged massgoers to invite a family member or friend to return to Church during the Year of Mercy.

In his pastoral letter for the Jubilee Year, the Bishop of Ferns set out a number of suggestions as to how the faithful could best mark the jubilee in their diocese.

The bishop’s suggestions include entering the cathedral Holy Door in Ferns Cathedral and availing of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, joining an apostolic group or going on pilgrimage as an individual or as a group.

Dr Brennan appealed to people that in this Year of Mercy that they hold out a hand to the outcast and the sinner, the person in darkness, the one in grief or pain, their neighbour who is lonely, their brother or sister in torment or in difficulty. “And may we do that by opening our own lives to that mercy first,” he said.
