The Galway Franciscans and Poor Clares are celebrating a Year of the Holy Name of Jesus beginning on January 3, 2014 – Feast of the Holy Name.
The idea for this celebration came about as the result of a discovery by the Galway Poor Clares that a new wave of devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus began after a retreat in their monastery given by a Franciscan priest, Fr Francis Donnelly in January 1914.
