Knock shrine’s Family Focus Week will begin at midday on July 9 with a blessing of young children at Knock Basilica, launching a programme of events to support and encourage families in all aspects of family life.
The programme will include workshops on topics as diverse as addiction, worry, parenting, grief, and faith transmission, while Mass, reflection hours with music and prayer, and events for children taking place each day.
The week, according to Knock Family Centre director Monica Morley, will “enrich, assist and encourage families to live contentedly and well in a world that is always challenging and often difficult”.
Knock Museum curator Grace Mulqueen will give a talk on Wednesday July 13 entitled ‘Cherishing our Past’, and a new remembrance garden, dedicated to the memory of all deceased children, will take place after Mass on July 9.
