First ‘Worldwide Marian Procession’ gathers Mary’s blue army in Derry

Irish clergy are encouraging Christians from across the globe to gather for the first ‘Worldwide Marian Procession’, taking place on June 13. The event is being launched by the YouTube channel ‘Guardians of the Faith’ and supported by Bishop Donal McKeown and Archbishop Eamon Martin.

Participants are encouraged to join the procession in person in Derry, or join in unity “anywhere in the world with a Eucharistic Procession, Adoration, or Holy Mass.” Over 115 parishes in six continents have already signed up to join the procession. The organisers are expecting 10,000 to come to Derry. “We are asking laity to ask their priests to join in unity with either a Procession or Holy Mass and Adoration in unity,” the organisers said.

Event organisers are asking “all men and boys to wear white shirts and blue ties and all ladies and girls to wear blue and wear mantels on their heads for reverence and to make the procession as Marian as possible with Our Eucharistic King as always at the forefront… This is Mary’s Blue Army rising up and answering the call to bring the light of Christ onto our streets and spread this Eucharistic flame globally.”
