A Co. Cavan man is “delighted and humbled” by the generosity of farmers around Ireland contributing machinery for a farm school in Burkina Faso.

Paul Connolly and seven others, spent over a week building a milking parlour near Pahin, Burkina Faso immediately after Christmas. The Cavan optician, whose business is part of the ‘Economy of Communion’ (an initiative where businesses give a part of their profits to direct aid for those in need) had been supporting the school for four years, after making contact with its manager, Fr Expedit Gnoumou.

“We hope to fill a container with tools and equipment and ship to Ghana in June, where it can be collected,” Mr Connolly said.

Farmers who wish to donate can contact Paul on (087) 935 6756.
