Faith comes first for football star who aims to soar with the Eagles

Christian football star Tim Tebow is set to make his return to the National Football League (NFL) after signing a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite being out of the league for some time, the 27-year-old remained one of the most popular players around and has a legion of fans who follow him because of his strong Christian beliefs.

“It’s pretty easy for me to say that the most important thing in my life is my relationship with Jesus Christ, followed by my relationship with my family. Football’s later on down the line,” Tebow has said.

The quarterback, who is known for his missionary work in the Philippines, which is where he was born to missionary parents, has been outspoken about his faith.

“Well, being outspoken about my faith isn’t just something that I do; it’s who I am because my faith isn’t just a little piece of my life. It is my life. It’s not a question of whether I’m outspoken about it or not. I’m definitely not ashamed of it. And first off, I’m extremely proud of my faith,” he said.
