East meets West in youth ministry studies

It was a case of ‘East meets West’ as 26 people from the Archdiocese of Tuam and Cherry Orchard/Ballyfermot Parish in Dublin graduated from the certificate programme in Youth Ministry Studies (YMSP). The graduation was held in Mount St Alphonsus Church, Limerick and the certificate is supported in Ireland by the Redemptorist congregation. The programme is accredited by St Mary’s University College Belfast and by the Centre for Ministry Development in the US.

Rev. Dr Niall Coll of St Mary’s University addressed the gathering and presented certificates on behalf of St Mary’s University, while Fr Michael Kelleher C.Ss.R. presented certificates on behalf of the Centre for Ministry Development. 

The YMSP teaching faculty includes lay people, religious and priests, all with extensive experience of engaging in youth ministry in a variety of settings, and they travel to deliver the programme.
