A community celebration
Rathmines Parish in conjunction with the Church of Ireland and Dublin City Council will be hosting a community wide event on Saturday, June 21. The Midsummer Fair in the Square promises to be a massive event with activities ranging from arts and crafts to a murder mystery game.
The fair kicks off at 12pm in Bellgrave Square with a dog show, though the dogs themselves will begin arriving at 11am. The rest of the activities will start at 2:30pm and go until 5pm.
Everything at the fair will be completely free, including food and refreshments. Other activities will include a treasure hunt, street performers, sports events and a band area with music.
The event coordinator Frank Brown said: “This is not a fundraising event; the purpose of the fair is purely to build up community spirit in the area and to celebrate what Rathmines is about. People of all ages are encouraged to attend and have fun.”
