The parish of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Dublin’s north inner-city, which hosts the mortal remains of Matt Talbot, is celebrating his 90th anniversary in 2015.
The ‘Year of Matt Talbot’ will open on January 25 with a novena Mass at 3pm presided by Fr Brian Lawless, vice-postulator of the cause of Matt Talbot. An exhibition in the church illustrating the life of Matt Talbot will also be officially opened at the Mass.
The novena of Masses in Our Lady of Lourdes Church will continue on the last Sunday of the month at 3pm.
St Agatha’s Church, North William Street, Dublin 1– the parish of Matt Talbot’s birth and conversion – will host a novena Mass every first Friday of the month at 7.30pm.
Church authorities are currently investigating a potential miracle in the United States, which could see Venerable Matt Talbot canonised as a saint.
