Co. Wexford parish to celebrate bicentenary

This summer the Parish of Horeswood Ballykelly in Co. Wexford is hosting two significant events.

The celebration of the bicentenary of St Brigid’s Church in Ballykelly will take place at 11.30am on Sunday, June 28 with a Mass of thanksgiving celebrated by Bishop Denis Brennan. The bishop will also plant a tree to mark the event and refreshments will be served in the church hall.

The second celebration is the annual ‘open-air’ Mass for the parishioners of Horeswood within the ruins of the historic Dunbrody Abbey.

This year the service is planned for 10.30am on Sunday, July 12. However if suitable conditions are not met on the day, the event will be rescheduled for the following week on Sunday the 19th.
