Thai Children’s Trust Ireland has sent a message of thanks to readers of The Irish Catholic for their generous response to its Lenten appeal to help feed orphaned and abandoned children on the Thai-Burma border.
The Feed a Future campaign asked people to support its nutrition programme by giving a €40 donation, or €1 a day throughout Lent, to provide a child with three essential meals daily for three months.
“We are delighted with the wonderful support we have received from Catholic supporters across Ireland,” said Adele Kierans, CEO of Thai Children’s Trust Ireland.
“Finding the resources to cover the food costs each month is a constant worry,” she added, “but with the amazing support our Feed a Future Lent appeal has received we now know we can give over 130 children nutritious meals for the next three months.”months.”
