Belfast hosts a Bible Convention

Archbishop Eamon Martin conducted a short service commissioning Fr Antony Perumayan as the National Coordinator of the Syro-Malabar Faithful in Ireland, during the annual Abhishekagni Bible Convention at the Dominican College in Belfast from August 20-24.

The event included a five-day spiritual retreat conducted by Fr Xavier Khan Vattayil and is organised by the Syro-Malabar Church in Northern Ireland annually as part of its spiritual enlightenment programme. The retreat took place under the caretaking of Fr Antony, Fr Joseph and Fr Paul, and was supported by volunteers who included the committee members of the Syro-Malabar Church and young members of the Christian Life Community (CLC).

Each day of the retreat saw participants led in devotion with songs and short speeches, and ended with the daily celebration of Mass, followed by adoration led by Fr Xavier. On the final day Mass was celebrated by Bishop Noel Treanor of Down & Connor.
