Westport parish in Co. Mayo has sent out an appeal for priests to assist with Mass and Confessions on the summit of Croagh Patrick for the Reek Sunday pilgrimage this year.
The annual national pilgrimage this takes place on Sunday, July 27 with Confessions being offered on the summit of the mountain from 7:30am-2pm. The first Mass on the summit will be at 8am, and every half hour thereafter until the last Mass which commences at 2pm.
Over 20,000 people – many in their bare feet – climbed Croagh Patrick on Reek Sunday last year.
