Emmaus Centre's grounds. The three branches (brothers, sisters and secular) of the Ireland-England Province of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary (SSCC) met for their annual gathering in Emmaus Retreat Centre in Swords at the start of June. Accompanying the assembly was the Superior General of the Congregation, Javier Álvarez Ossorio (Spain) and one of the General Councillors, Pankras Olak (Indonesia). The days together offered time for meetings, for prayer, for discernment and in the case of the brothers, the election of a new leadership team for the next three years.
Fr Michael Ruddy ss.cc. was elected the new provincial. The week came to an end with the traditional Jubilee Celebration of Ordination and Religious Profession, a celebration that began with the Eucharist of thanksgiving and finished with dinner.
