A gathering for creative Catholics

A weekend event for ‘Creative Catholics’ – those involved or interested in the musical, visual, literary or dramatic arts – is being organised by a group called His Mad Plan. The theme of the weekend is ‘Beauty Will Save the World’ and it is designed to be a weekend of prayer, talks and workshops from Friday, March 20 to Sunday, March 22 in St Teresa’s Church, Clarendon Street, Dublin.

The weekend will begin with an opening Mass celebrated by papal nuncio, Archbishop Charles Brown on Friday evening, followed by workshops and talks interspersed with prayer on Saturday and concluding with workshops and Mass on Sunday.

As a movement, His Mad Plan hopes to provide Catholic artists with a community to share ideas and some formation and input to help them grow.

“We want to offer artists an opportunity to express goodness and beauty, and to use their gifts for God, to build a community and to create a mission among Catholic artists,” said Joanna Aitken, one of the organisers.
