University College Cork (UCC) is to host a religious themed conference to honour the work of disguised Irish-American historian, Professor John McCarthy.
Among the speakers will be Professor Emeritus Dermot Keogh who will give a talk on 'The Irish Embassy to the Vatican: A Historical View', and Rev Dr Vincent Twomey, who will speak the challenges facing the leadership of the Irish Catholic Church today.
The event is being organised by Gabriel Doherty in the School of History UCC in conjunction with the Department of History, Fordham University, New York.
The conference takes place on Saturday, March 1 at UCC West Wing 9. Registration for the event begins at 9.30 and there is no charge.
