Pope Francis will greet Queen Elizabeth II of England to the Vatican this April 3.
Having accepted an invitation from President Giorgio Napolitano to visit Italy, the English monarch, accompanied by Prince Philip, will travel to the Vatican for the private meeting at the Pope’s residence. The queen has met with both of Pope Francis’ predecessors, Pope Benedict XVI in 2000 and Pope John Paul II in 1980.
