Mayo woman named pro-life ‘Person of the Year’

Nuala Uí Laimhín from Foxford, Co. Mayo honoured for voluntary work.

A Co. Mayo teacher who volunteers her time to promote the pro-life cause was named Pro-Life Person of the Year, in an inaugural award ceremony by the Pro-Life Campaign (PLC).

Nuala Uí Laimhín from Foxford, Co. Mayo, was presented with the award by Joe McCarroll from the Pro Life Campaign. He described her as an “amazing volunteer” who has been working on the pro-life cause for over 20 years.

He said that while she was a busy teacher and mother-of-three, she “still finds time to do so much for the pro-life cause – on social media, fundraising, holding meetings, organising leafleting and many other activities”.

The PLC created the award to acknowledge what they describe as “unsung heroes” who commit their time working voluntarily for their cause. Mr McCarroll said that without “many such generous people, the Pro Life Campaign would not be able to do its work”.
